Recent Court of Appeals Ruling Could Spawn more SEQRA Lawsuits

Steven J. Ricca is a partner in the Firm's Environmental practice group and a member of the Firm's Economic and Land Development practice group. Mr. Ricca has extensive experience in handling land use matters and related environmental review and zoning procedures, regulatory compliance and enforcement matters and environmental and commercial litigation. Mr. Ricca has successfully defended industrial and commercial projects in municipal public hearings and in the courtroom, and has served as special counsel to municipalities on various land use matters.

Mr. Ricca also has successfully handled numerous petroleum spill cost recovery litigation matters, and his regulatory enforcement practice has included, among others things, defense of clients in the petroleum and chemical manufacturing industries, particularly with respect to matters arising under the Federal Clean Air Act. Mr. Ricca is a frequent lecturer on environmental topics.
