Joseph W. Allen is Administrator of the Firm's Litigation practice group.  For more than fifteen years, Mr. Allen has represented financial institutions as well as other creditors, trustees, equipment lessors, debtors and creditors' committees in bankruptcy cases under Chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. He has been involved in international insolvency proceedings and has successfully represented a foreign representative in a proceeding in the United States under former section 304 of the Bankruptcy Code. He has lectured before business groups on the subject of bankruptcy litigation and creditors' rights. He has successfully tried commercial cases before juries and judges. He is the immediate Past-Chair of the Commercial and Bankruptcy Law Committee of the Bar Association of Erie County.
