Jean C. Powers Elected President Of National Association Of Women Business Owners

Powers has been elected to serve as President of the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). NAWBO Buffalo Niagara is a leading advocate for emerging and established women business owners who aspire to higher levels of opportunity, challenge and success.  

           

Ms. Powers is a partner in the Firm's Real Estate practice group. For more than twenty years, Ms. Powers, who is admitted to practice law in New York, has represented developers, lenders and business entities in the acquisition, financing, leasing and disposition of commercial and industrial real property, and is the lead person in the Real Estate Department involved with bond financed transactions.  She is very familiar with issues concerning title and leasing and a major portion of her practice includes the representation of a developer of office complexes and industrial facilities.

           

In addition to serving on NAWBO's board, Ms. Powers currently serves as a Trustee for the University at Buffalo Foundation, as a member of the Dean's Advisory Council for the University at Buffalo Law School and is Past Chair and an Emeritus Member of the Trocaire College Board of Trustees. She is a member of the Erie County and New York State Bar Associations, as well as the New York State Women's Bar Association. Ms. Powers practices from the Firm's Amherst office.
