Edward Cuddihy, retired managing editor of The Buffalo News, was commissioned by the Firm to write the book documenting its legacy and the important role that prominent partners played in the politics of their era. Edward Cuddihy, author of The Merging of Titans, is a native of Buffalo who worked at The Buffalo News as a reporter, city editor, assistant managing editor and managing editor. He retired in 2005 after spending 43 years with The Buffalo News. Cuddihy also is co-author of On The Canal, a South Buffalo Marine's story set during World War II. He has traveled extensively in western Europe as well as to historical sites in the United States. In researching the firm?s heritage, Cuddihy and his wife, Irene E. Cuddihy, Ph.D., reviewed several hundred articles from newspapers in Buffalo, Washington, New York and Chicago, as well as from national magazines, and examined Historical Society documents and family records relating to the founders going back more than 75 years. Cuddihy currently reviews non-fiction and writes occasional travel stories for The Buffalo News.
