Ralph L. Halpern Appointed Visiting Professor At Bulgarian University

BUFFALO, NEW YORK — Jaeckle Fleischmann & Mugel, LLP, a law firm with offices in Buffalo, Amherst and Rochester, New York and Phoenix, Arizona, announces that Ralph L. Halpern, Senior Counsel, has been appointed a visiting professor at Neophyte Rilsky South-Western University, Faculty of Law and History in Bulgaria.  Mr. Halpern was selected from 171 applicants and will accept this appointment in the spring of 2008 teaching the American legal system and American corporate law. The program is organized by the Center for International Legal Studies with volunteer participating lawyers from the United States as well as Eastern and Western Europe. The Neophyte Rilsky South-Western University was formed in 1975 as an affiliate of Sophia University, and was given independent status in 1995. The University has nearly 4,000 students enrolled in its Law and History Faculty which was established in 1991.

Mr. Halpern is senior counsel in the Firm's Business and Corporate, Financial Services and International Trade practice groups. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions, administrative law, and general corporate law. Mr. Halpern has also litigated matters in the commercial field as well First Amendment rights and class actions. He has been counsel to public and private companies in a variety of fields including food, alcoholic beverages, insurance, waste management, steel and professional sports. Mr. Halpern has advised newspapers, and television and radio stations with respect to media concerns. Mr. Halpern has been a member of the New York State Bar Association's Committee on Professional Ethics for the past 39 years and its Chairman from 1971 to 1976.  He is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in World Jewry.  Mr. Halpern practices from the Firm's Buffalo office and has been active in numerous professional, civic and philanthropic organizations.
