Jaeckle Fleischmann Adds Three Attorneys to Labor & Employment Practice Group
BUFFALO, NEW YORK — Jaeckle Fleischmann & Mugel, LLP, a multi service corporate law firm announces that Partner Melinda G. Disare, Special Counsel James N. Schmit and Associate Sharon A. Swift have joined the Firm's Labor & Employment practice group. The addition of the three new team members brings the department of labor & employment attorneys to seven.
Prior to joining Jaeckle Fleischmann, Ms. Disare served as Partner & Chair of the labor & employment practice group at Damon & Morey LLP. She concentrates her practice on labor & employment matters including collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, wage and hour issues, employment discrimination and related issues. Ms. Disare is listed in Best Lawyers in America and the Upstate New York Superlawyers Directory. She serves as Vice President of the Volunteer Lawyers Project and is a member of the Board of Trustees for D'Youville College. Ms. Disare earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from West Virginia University, and her J.D., cum laude, from Cornell University.
Mr. Schmit most recently served as Special Counsel with Damon & Morey's labor & employment practice group, where he previously served as Chair for several years. He represents public, private and not-for-profit employers in matters related to contract negotiations, arbitration proceedings, wrongful termination as well as trial and appellate practice in federal and state courts. Mr. Schmit is listed in Best Lawyers in America and the Upstate New York Superlawyers Directory. He received his B.A. from Canisius College and his J.D. from Boston College.
Sharon A. Swift concentrates her practice in matters related to discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination and unemployment issues. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Swift was an Associate at Damon & Morey, and previously served as Corporate Counsel for Manning and Napier Information Services, LLC. Ms. Swift is Past-President of the Board of Literacy – New York, and is a Board member and former Chair of Literacy Volunteers of America for Buffalo and Erie County, Inc. She earned her B.S. in Economics from Canisius College, and her M.B.A. and J.D., magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
